Ronny's hammering free kick goal wrapped newly promoted Berlin one point on the road at Hannover to open the eight round of Bundesliga on Friday.

Hannover squandered the chance to reap the fifth win of the season as Berlin's substitute Ronny levelled the scores with his first touch of the ball.

The hosts broke the deadlock in an evenly balanced match through Christian Schulz following a corner on the 23rd minute. Hannover retracted with the neat lead meanwhile Berlin pilled on the pressure to work out golden opportunities but Adrian Ramos nor Aenis Ben Hatira were able to score the equalizer.

However, Ronny Heberson Furtado de Araujo astonished Hannover with his free kick strike on the 81st minute, one minute after his substitution.

The hosts nearly grabbed a late winner but Berlin keeper Thomas Kraft denied Artur Sobiech's header on target.

"We are satisfied to earn a share of the spoils but because of our chances we should have won, "Berlin manager Michael Preetz said.

"We have been lucky and we should be thankful for the draw," Hannover coach Mirko Slomka said.

The following games are scheduled for Saturday: Schalke host Augsburg, Monchengladbach meet front runners Dortmund, Stuttgart see Bremen, Wolfsburg see newly promoted Braunschweig, Mainz encounter Hoffenheim and Leverkusen clash Bayern Munich.
