Hannover's striker Mame Biram Diouf played his last season for the Lower Saxony side, the Bundesliga club announced in an official statement on Thursday.
Diouf's agent informed Hannover's manager Dirk Dufner that the Senegalese international striker will leave the club after his contract expires on June 30.
"Now we have the clarity that we have asked for some time. It needed a decision so that we can advance our plans for the upcoming season," Hannover manager Dirk Dufner said.
The 26-year-old striker joined the German side from Manchester United on an undisclosed fee in January 2012, becoming a key player at Hannover by scoring 35 goals in 71 encounters.
Dufner added, "We will retain an exceptional striker in memory. We have to thank Mame for his passionate commitment."
Hannover completed the last campaign on 10th place of the Bundesliga standings.
