Nikkei closed at 11-week high point on Friday lifted by hope of U.S. economic recovery.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended up 126.68 points, or 1.47 percent, from Thursday at 8,766.36, its highest closing level since finishing at 8,767.09 on Nov. 7.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished up 14.79 points, or 2.00 percent, at 755.47.
The turnover was about 1403.2 billion yen (about 18.16 billion U. S. dollars). |
