The benchmark 30-scrip sensitive index of the Bombay Stock Exchange, Sensex, closed on Thursday at 16,070.48 points, up 40.39 points or 0.25 percent from the previous close of 16,030.09 points.
The turnover was 75.39 billion rupees (1.4 billion U.S. dollars) .
