| Dollar trades at lower 79 yen level in early Tokyo deals |

The U.S. dollar traded in the lower 79 yen range Monday morning in Tokyo, after plunging to its lowest level against the Japanese currency in about three months in New York on Friday.
At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 79.17-18 yen compared with 78.98-79.08 yen in New York and 79.28-30 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Friday.
The euro fetched 1.2772-2777 dollar and 101.12-17 yen against 1. 2778-2788 dollar and 100.93-101.03 yen in New York and 1.2672-2674 dollar and 100.46-50 yen in Tokyo Friday. |
