Blast rocked Kandahar city, the capital of Kandahar province, 450 km south of capital Kabul on Wednesday, killing one person and injuring two others, an official said.
"The terrorists planted explosive device on a motorbike and detonated it in Kandahar city at around 12:20 p.m. local time today, as a result, one policeman was killed and two others sustained injuries," the official told Xinhua but declined to be identified, saying authorized officials would brief the media after completion of investigation.
He also did not say if the injured men were police or civilians.
The incident took place three days after killing 16 civilians by a rogue U.S. soldier in Panjwai district of Kandahar province on Sunday morning.
Meantime, another official with the press department of Kandahar provincial administration said three people including two security personnel and a civilian were injured in the motorbike bomb. |
