Tokyo stocks open lower amid concerns over U.S.-Canada trade talks
Tokyo stocks opened lower Tuesday amid investor concerns over the currently suspended U.S.-Canada trade talks.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 78.43 points, or 0.35 percent, from Monday to 22,628.95.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 5.70 points, or 0.33 percent, to 1,714.61.
Oil and coal product, mining, and rubber product-linked issues comprised notable early decliners.
