Clash leaves 7 dead in northern Afghan province
At least seven militants have been confirmed dead and six others injured as government forces stormed Taliban positions outside Kunduz city, the capital of northern Kunduz province, an army spokesman said Tuesday.
The government forces, backed by fighting aircraft, targeted Taliban hideouts in Zarkharid and Taluka neighborhoods outside Kunduz city Monday night, killing seven insurgents on the spot and wounding four others.
Two security personnel were also injured during the operations, the spokesman confirmed.
The Taliban outfit has yet to make comment on the airstrike.
