Dozens of Palestinian prisoners joined Wednesday a hunger strike declared earlier by another inmate, a Palestinian non-governmental organization (NGO) said.
The prisoners took this move to show support to Hana Shalabi, a West Bank prisoner who has been on hunger strike for 21 days, said Qadoura Fares, head of Palestinian Prisoners' Club.
"The prisoners protest the deterioration of their conditions and restrictions imposed by Israel's Prison Service against them," Fares told Xinhua.
"We can not specify the number of hunger striker prisoners, but more detainees are joining the strike," he added. |
