Negotiations best way to establish Palestinian state
Last Updated(Beijing Time):2012-03-08 10:00
Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh said Wednesday negotiations are the best way to establish a Palestinian state alongside Israel.

"Jordan will continue its efforts and contacts with international sides to resume the negotiations" between Israel and the Palestinians, Judeh said at a press conference after he met with the Palestinian National Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in the West Bank.

The Jordanian foreign minister also handed Abbas a letter from King Abdullah II of Jordan about Amman's efforts to revive the stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

The Palestinian-Israeli negotiations broke down in 2010 over a dispute on Israel's settlement construction in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, where the Palestinians wish to build their future capital.

In January, Jordan hosted six rounds of exploratory talks between Israel and the Palestinians. The discussions aimed at restarting the peace process.

Israel and the Palestinian leadership have traded blames on the failure of these talks.
