Canadian stock market suffers fourth straight drop
Canadian main stock market ended Wednesday for a fourth straight session drop as tech and health-care stocks slumbered.
The Toronto Stock Exchange's benchmark Standard & Poor's/TSX Composite Index was down 23.73 points, or 0.15 percent, to conclude at 16,137.57.
The Canadian dollar edged up 0.03 cent to 0.759 U.S. dollar.
In the tech sector, BlackBerry fell 5.8 percent to 13.19 Canadian dollars while Constellation Software dropped 1.8 percent to 961.00 Canadian dollars.
In the health-care area, Aurora Cannabis declined 3.4 percent to 8.65 Canadian dollars while Bausch Health Companies lost 1.8 percent to 28.19 Canadian dollars.
The energy group fell 1.54 points, or 0.79 percent while the financials sector climbed 0.25 points, or 0.08 percent.
