German shares gain 1.40 pct Tuesday
German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 162.39 points, or 1.40 percent, to close at 11,776.55 points.
Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.69 percent. Housing association Vonovia and global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard rose by 3.56 percent and 3.07 percent respectively.
German insurance and financial services company Allianz was the only loser among the blue chips, by falling 0.04 percent.
Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen was the most-traded share with a turnover of 324.85 million euros (376.40 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
