German shares lost on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 61.52 points, or 0.52 percent, to close at 11,715.03 points.

Renal dialysis equipment supplier Fresenius Medical lost the most among the blue chips, down by 16.43 percent, followed by European health care company Fresenius SE and material manufacturer Covestro, which lost 8.61 percent and 2.99 percent respectively.

Pharmaceutical company Merck, multinational chemical firm Linde and Deutsche Bank were the top three winners, rising 2.89 percent, 2.63 percent and 1.87 percent respectively.

Fresenius was the most traded share of the day with a turnover of 434.91 million euros (501.45 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
