Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) agricultural futures settled mixed on Tuesday, with wheat rising moderately following a sharp decline in the previous session.

The most active December corn was up 0.75 cent, or 0.2 percent to close at 3.7025 dollars per bushel. December wheat was up 1 cent, or 0.2 percent to settle at 5.09 dollars. November soybeans were down 1 cent, or 0.12 percent to close at 8.575 dollars per bushel.

CBOT wheat edged up over bargain buying, said market watchers, after a 1.31 percent decline on Monday.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture released late Monday its weekly crop progress report, pegging soybean harvest was 53 percent complete, well above the previous week's 38 percent, though still behind a 69 percent average of the past five years.

The latest report indicates that soybean collection has sped up significantly while the U.S. Midwest weather turned drier.

However, analysts said that without a resolution of trade dispute with China, large U.S. supplies will further pressure soybeans as local farmers are not anxious to add to sales at low prices.
