French shares gain 2.31 pct Wednesday
French shares edged up on Wednesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 2.31 percent, or 114.91 points, to close at 5,093.44 points.
French multinational automotive supplier Valeo advanced 6.73 percent. French personal care company L'Oreal gained 6.71 percent, and French multinational aircraft engine, rocket engine, aerospace-component and defense company Safran rose 4.97 percent.
French transnational water management, waste management, transport and energy services company Veolia Environnement edged down 0.97 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French tyre manufacturer Michelin lost 0.40 percent, and French multinational retailer Carrefour lost 0.06 percent. Enditem
