Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) wheat futures settled more than 1 percent higher on Wednesday amid rising world grain prices.

The most active March 2019 wheat was up 5.5 cents, or 1.06 percent to settle at 5.265 dollars, as the March milling wheat on the Paris-based Euronext exchange closed at 206.25 euros (about 234 U.S. dollars) per metric ton, up 1.5 percent.

Egypt's state grain importer GASC reportedly secured 180,000 metric tons of Romanian and Russian wheat for early February arrival. GASC paid an average price of 242 dollars per metric ton, compared to 237 dollars for a tender last week.

The rising prices boosted wheat futures in Paris and Chicago.

CBOT January soybeans were up 5 cents, or 0.55 percent to settle at 9.20 dollars per bushel, as optimism continued to prevail on trade talks with China. Meanwhile, March corn was up 0.5 cent, or 0.13 percent to close at 3.8525 dollars per bushel. Enditem
