British stocks up 1.08 pct Wednesday
British stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 1.08 percent, or 73.25 points, to close at 6,880.19 points.
Berkeley Group Holdings, a British property developer, soared 5.71 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Ashtead Group and Barratt Developments increased by 5.02 percent and 4.67 percent respectively.
Wood Group (John), an international energy services company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 10.18 percent.
