French shares lost on Tuesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 1.31 percent, or 71.10 points, to close at 5,342.70 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 33 lost in the day.

International luxury group LVMH went down by 3.51 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French international communication group Publicis lost 3.16 percent. French international luxury company Hermes lost 2.63 percent.

French international hotel group Accor advanced 1.85 percent, the top gainers of the blue chips. French financial group Credit Agricole rose 1.65 percent, followed by Sodexo, one French company in life quality sector, which gained 1.14 percent. Enditem
