British stocks down 0.62 pct Tuesday
British stocks decreased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.62 percent, or 46.74 points, to close at 7,457.86 points.
Whitbread, a British multinational hotel, coffee shop and restaurant company, soared 2.60 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Barclays and Royal Bank of Scotland Group increased by 1.97 percent and 1.52 percent, respectively.
WPP, a British multinational advertising and public relations company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 6.27 percent. Berkeley Group Holdings, a British property developer, dropped 4.36 percent. Persimmon, a British housebuilding company, fell 3.28 percent. Enditem
