British stocks down 0.04 pct Thursday
British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.04 percent, or 2.69 points, to close at 6,877.50 points.
Standard Life Aberdeen, an investment company, soared 4.70 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Tui Ag-Di and Shire increased by 4.48 percent and 2.59 percent, respectively.
Mondi,an international packaging and paper group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.91 percent. Marks & Spencer Group, a major British multinational retailer, dropped 3.80 percent. Barratt Developments, one of the largest residential property development companies in Britain, fell 3.29 percent.
