Nikkei fell for the third trading day on Monday on slower than expected U.S. economic growth in the last quarter of 2011.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 48.17 points, or 0.54 percent, from Friday at 8,793.05.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 4.12 points or 0.54 percent lower at 757.01.
The turnover was about 958.2 billion yen (about 12.49 billion U.S. dollars). |
