Dollar trades in upper 97 yen range after Fed's minutes
The U.S. dollar traded in the upper 97 yen range Thursday morning in Tokyo as the minutes by the U.S. Federal Reserve's July policy meeting showed policymakers remained divided over when to taper its stimulus.
At 9 a.m., the dollar was quoted at 97.80-81 yen compared with 97.64-74 yen in New York and 97.57-59 yen in Tokyo at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The euro fetched 1.3341-3342 dollars and 130.48-50 yen against 1.3350-3360 dollars and 130.43-53 yen in New York and 1.3391-3393 dollars and 130.66-70 yen in Tokyo late Wednesday afternoon.
